One of the focus point of the Eurekaweek is sustainability. Sustainability something that is increasingly being brought to the attention and which is becoming more important. Not only from the university, but also from the city of Rotterdam, there is an incentive to do sustainable business. The Eurekaweek is happy to contribute to these developments. Both during the week itself and during the preparations for it, we always try to choose the most green and sustainable option. We do this together with EUR sustainability organizations and other partners. Although we can still improve a lot, we have already taken some major steps this year!

What are we doing?

During the preparation, we have always included sustainability in the process. Products have been produced in the most sustainable way possible. For example, all letters are printed on recycled paper and all printed matter is sustainable. We also have halved our shipments by no longer sending paper mail to foreign students. In addition, some paper marketing tools have been replaced, and it has been decided to send invitations only by e-mail. After a successful pilot last year, the board is striving to use sustainable hardcups during the entire week.

Sustainable Introduction Stunt 2020

This year, the Eurekaweek will again participate in the sustainable introduction stunt (DIS). The DIS is an annual competition to make the introduction time as sustainable as possible. The Eurekaweek will again participate this year for the title "Most Sustainable Introduction Week". Our sustainability plan contains all the points that we will focus on to achieve this title.
