There is a pick-up service from Schiphol Airport to Rotterdam for new international students at the beginning of each semester. It is also possible to travel by train or taxi to Rotterdam. Once in Rotterdam, it is possible to travel by trams, metro's, taxis, buses and trains.
Students arriving at Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam) in January or August can register for our pick-up service (free of charge). During several days a bus will depart for Rotterdam a few times a day. The exact days and times can be found on the pick-up service website.
If you would like to travel by public transport, then we recommend travelling to Rotterdam by train. There are yellow ticket machines in the baggage collection hall. After going through Customs just follow the signs to the train station. There are also yellow ticket machines at the train station. The trains to Rotterdam CS (Central Station) leave every 15 or 30 minutes (or every hour during the night), depending on the time and the day. The train journey takes about 50 minutes and a ticket costs about € 12. Timetables can be found on the NS website and on the 9292 website.
We suggest you take a look at the several route descriptions or this short video that will explain how to get to our campuses. To get an idea of what our campuses and Rotterdam look like, have a look at the map.
You can also travel by taxi. Taxis are expensive in the Netherlands, so make sure to have enough cash on you if you wish to travel by taxi. For example, a ride from Schiphol Airport to Rotterdam costs ± € 170.
