Erasmus Centre for Relational Economics, Values & Leadership (EC-RVL)

The knowledge center for relational economics, values ​​and leadership has been launched following the acceptance of the chair of the same name by Professor Lans Bovenberg within the Erasmus School of Economics. The center develops within two areas:

  1. Research: Research positions are open for those who want to conduct scientific research into the relationship between economics, values ​​and leadership. The center also aims to function as an academic network within the EUR with respect to values, leadership and cooperation in organizations.
  2. Application: The valorisation of relational thinking for the benefit of society. There are three distinct activities that pursue this in education, society and business.
    • A modern teaching method for secondary education is being designed by the Innovating the Economics Education Foundation (SIEO).
    • Lans Bovenberg is also affiliated with the ERGO (Economics, Religion & Governance) network, an inter-university connection between the VU, EUR and TiU universities that organizes public and private network events.
    • The last initiative is [RE]Value, an educational and coaching programme for companies in collaboration with the private equity company Anders Invest. This course with lectures, in-company workshops and executive coaching is recommended for managers who desire support to achieve the following things:
      • Increasing the congruence between values ​​and behavior (virtues) of individual employees, teams & departments.
      • Addressing the deep, intrinsic motivations of employees by implementing an intervention which supports employees in their work by addressing their personal and social values.
      • Raising awareness of the responsibility of leaders and managers and impact on cooperation within the organization.
