Students in the field of Health Sciences, Medicine, Biology, or any other life science program are welcome to apply for a research elective at Erasmus MC if they have completed at least three years of their university training.
Students from partner universities
If your home university has signed a Memorandum of Understanding or a bilateral agreement with Erasmus MC (within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ program), we'll try our best to find a placement in one of the departments. Please note that your university needs to contact us and nominate you. If you are not nominated you cannot visit us on an individual basis outside this existing bilateral agreement.
Fluency in English is required.
As a rule, a research project at the M.Sc. level will take at least six months. Please check the topics or subjects which are available (some information is only posted in Dutch, but all research is done in English). You can also check the research departments or either of the following lists of research groups for possible topics or projects:
- M.Sc. Neuroscience labs;
- M.Sc. Infection and Immunity labs;
- M.Sc. Molecular Medicine labs;
- M.Sc. Clinical Research labs.
Students from other universities
If your university does not have any agreement with us, options to perform a research project cannot be guaranteed, although we will do our best to arrange it.
