Erasmus University NL Scholarship

Please do note that if you apply for multiple scholarships a separate application is required for each of them. In addition, Erasmus MC specifically selects students for our five international, (bio)medical research masters. Candidates for other (prospective) schools at Erasmus University need to apply to their own school in question.

The Erasmus University NL Scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Erasmus University Rotterdam. The scholarship is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s or master’s in Holland. The EEA consists of the EU countries and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

The scholarship amounts to € 5,000 or € 10,000 (to be decided by the faculty). You will receive the scholarship in the first year of your studies.

Requirements
  • Your nationality is non-EEA and you pay the institutional tuition fee;
  • You are an excellent student according to Erasmus MC's standard;
  • You are applying for a full-time master's program at Erasmus University Rotterdam;
  • You did not obtain a diploma at an education institution in the Netherlands;
  • You have never been enrolled as a full degree student at an educational institution in the Netherlands;
  • You can only receive the Erasmus University NL Scholarship once;
  • You meet the specific requirements set by Erasmus MC.

Please note that this is a partial scholarship for one year and that you will have to finance the rest of your studies through other means.

How to apply

You can apply by sending a letter of motivation, your CV plus grades list, and a budget plan in one Pdf document to internationaloffice@erasmusmc.nl. Please use the following file name: <Student number, Last Name, First Name (name of research master).pdf>.

The budget plan should consist of an overview of (expected) income and expenses.

Deadline

Applications for the 2024-2025 academic year can be submitted until 1 May, 2024. Students who have been granted a scholarship will be informed about the results via email no later than 21 May 2024.
