Title: Can comparability of self-assessed health be improved? Testing a popular approach using objective data
Supervisor: Teresa Bago d’Uva
Project Description
Anchoring vignettes are increasingly used to identify and correct heterogeneity in the reporting of health with the aim of improving interpersonal comparability of subjective self-reported health. The validity of the method has however not been sufficiently tested. The aim of this project is to evaluate the validity of the vignettes approach for correcting self-reported health. We will make use of survey data to test whether vignette adjusted self-reports of health are indeed closer to objective health measures.
