  • Due to the consequences of the corona crisis, it may not be possible to meet all admission requirements for an EUR bachelor's or master's programme. Therefore, in some cases it is possible to be admitted conditionally to an EUR programme, under the condition that students must meet all admission requirements within a certain period. These exceptions only apply to applications for the academic year 2020-2021.

    • Am I eligible?
Prospective students who are unable to take state examination Dutch as a second language as a result of the corona crisis in order to demonstrate sufficient command of the Dutch language via NT2 prior to the start of the academic year, can be admitted conditionally to an EUR bachelor’s programme if they are expected to meet the desired level within a reasonable period. The relevant bachelor’s programme determines whether students are eligible.

      How does the admission work?
Admitted students have until 31 December 2020 to upload the proof of passed state examination in the application portal. If the programme determines that the admission requirements have been met, the conditional admission will change into a final admission to the Bachelor's programme. If the admission requirements are not met on 31 December 2020, it is no longer allowed to follow courses or examinations of this Bachelor's programme and the student will be deregistered from the programme. Obtained EC can be taken over when students file a new application, based on the judgement of the relevant Examination Board.

    • Am I eligible?
HBO propaedeutic phase students who wish to apply for an EUR bachelor's programme, but who are unable to complete their propaedeutic phase due to the corona measures, can request a ‘progress advice’ from their HBO institution. This advice answers the question whether it is reasonable for the student to complete the propaedeutic phase before 1 January 2021.

      How does the admission work?
Students submit their progress advice from the HBO institution to EUR no later than 1 August 2020, as part of the registration. The study programme assesses whether the student in question is conditionally admissible based on the advice in relation to the study load of the EUR bachelor’s programme. If so, the student will be admitted conditionally to the bachelor's programme until 1 January 2021. Until 1 January 2021, students can submit their HBO-P diploma, or proof of obtaining the HBO-P issued by the HBO institution. This can be done by sending an email to edf.es@eur.nl.

If the master’s programme concludes that the admission requirements have been met within the given time frame, the conditional admission will change into a final admission. If the conditionally admitted student fails to complete the HBO propaedeutic phase before 1 January 2021, the student is no longer allowed to follow courses or examinations of this bachelor's programme and the student will be deregistered from the programme. Obtained EC can be taken over when students file a new application, based on the judgement of the relevant Examination Board.

    • Am I eligible?
Bachelor students who wish to apply for an EUR master’s programme, but who cannot complete their bachelor’s programme due to the corona measures, can be admitted for an EUR master’s programme under certain conditions. Students can contact the relevant master’s programme to find out if they are admissible. EUR sets several preconditions:

      • The minimum number of EC that must have been obtained in the bachelor's programme is determined by the relevant master's programme.
      • If necessary, additional substantive conditions (eg specific courses/progress of bachelor's thesis will be determined by the master’s programme).
      • Master’s programmes can take feasibility into account when assessing applications.
      • Students must have completed their bachelor's degree before 1 September 2021.

      How does the admission work?
Students submit a study progress overview of their bachelor's programme as part of the registration for the master's programme. The master’s programme assesses whether the student in question is conditionally admissible. If so, the student will receive a conditional admission to the master's programme. Until 1 September 2021, students can submit their bachelor's degree or proof of obtaining their bachelor's degree. This can be sent to the study programme or uploaded via the registration portal.

If the master’s programme concludes that the admission requirements have been met within the given time frame, the conditional admission will change into a final admission. If the conditionally admitted student fails to complete the HBO propaedeutic phase before 1 September 2021, the student is no longer allowed to follow courses or examinations of this bachelor's programme and the student will be deregistered from the programme. Obtained EC can be taken over when students file a new application, based on the judgement of the relevant Examination Board.
