Prof. dr. Wubs and dr. Lavanga have received the Strategic Partnership grant for their research into the fashion industry. With the grant of more than 200.000 euro's they will be able to study the needs of the fashion industy, as well as create three high quality courses in fashion.

The Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnerships aim to support the development, transfer and/or implementation of innovative practices as well as the implementation of joint initiatives promoting cooperation, peer learning and exchanges of experience at European level.

The Project

The aim of the international project RE-FRAME FASHION is to investigate the current needs of the fashion industry and develop three high-quality courses in fashion. This project will be done by three universities - Erasmus University Rotterdam (NL), Paris Dauphine University (FR), Gdansk University of Technology (PL) - together with fashion industry partners.

The main objectives are:

  1. To develop a need analysis in close cooperation with fashion industry partners;
  2. To develop and pilot three high quality courses addressing current educational and labour-market needs;
  3. To foster a functioning network of complementary academic partners and other stakeholders;
  4. To encourage non-academic stakeholders to contribute to the curriculum, quality enhancement and internships.

The results

This project will result in three high quality fashion courses (heritage in fashion, sustainability in fashion, entrepreneurship in fashion) which will be the stepping stones towards developing an International Master in Fashion Industry (IMFI). Next to this a methodology will be developed for case-based learning. The overreaching goal is to provide an innovative route for students who would like to work in the global fashion industry as creative managers, entrepreneurs, consultants, policy makers, and researchers. The results of the project will be presented at a public international event.
