Study programme

The Pre-masters are highly intensive programmes. They are taught entirely in English. You will acquire academic skills, write essays, learn about statistics and conduct your own research. We expect a lot from you, but your efforts will all be rewarded when you can start the Master’s degree programme the next year!

Duration of the programme

The Pre-Master’s programme takes one year (60 ec). It may under certain circumstances take two years to complete. You are required to complete several crucial courses at the Bachelor’s level. There are also courses designed specifically for the Pre-Master's programme. Those who complete the programme will not receive a diploma but a certificate of admission to the related Master’s degree programme.

Developing academic skills

You will be educated as an academic professional in the pre-Master. At the end of the pre-Master, you will apply all your knowledge and research skills to write your own Bachelor’s thesis. After a successful completion of the Pre-Master, you will have all the knowledge you needed to meet the entry requirements of the Master's degree programme in Place, Culture and Tourism.

Towards the Master Place, Culture and Tourism

The Pre-Master Place, Culture and Tourism offers a highly intensive track preparing you for the Master's programme in Place, Culture and Tourism. The Pre-Master is taught entirely in English and you are required to produce several scholarly essays and presentations. Conducting your own research for the final thesis project will be the crowning glory. Obviously, we expect a lot from you. But your efforts will be rewarded when you can start the Master's degree programme Place, Culture and Tourism!
