About our doctoral education programme

About our PhD programmes
Josha Wijngaarden

As a PhD candidate at ESHCC you will follow the doctoral education programme of the Erasmus Graduate School of Social Sciences and the Humanities (EGSH). During your PhD track you will follow courses, workshops and master classes in time and project management, English academic writing, advanced research methodology, publishing and much more.

You will follow the education programme together with PhD candidates from other disciplines at Erasmus University. By stimulating junior researchers to look beyond their own project and actively engage with different perspectives, we seek to equip a new generation of scientists with the sensitivities and skills required to do multidisciplinary research.

Interdisciplinary approach

Not only do we offer a huge diversity of topics, theories and research, but we also explicitly organise interactions and exchanges between them. We strongly believe in two things: that multidisciplinarity is the key to excellent and unique academic research, and that students thrive in a friendly and collegial environment.
