Alex Vrublev, student Positive Organisational Psychology
If I were asked to describe my experience during my Master Positive Organisational Psychology in two words they would be 'eye opening'.
If I were asked to describe my experience during my Master Positive Organisational Psychology in two words they would be “eye opening”. There wasn’t much thought into choosing the master itself, I had only heard that it was very good from a friend but the things that were waiting for me were nothing short of stellar. The dedication and care of the people I interacted with, their preparedness and enthusiasm in explaining things again and again if needed, and their near-tangible passion for their subject of choice blew me away from the second I stepped foot inside my first class.
Each course I encountered brought to light a new facet of Psychology and challenged me in new ways. Although my passion is for Personnel selection and Assessment, I never failed to find interesting and useful information in all of the other domains as well. I found the teaching method to be quite challenging but also satisfying in the end. Having to search for information and extract the essentials from our materials really helped me in getting a better understanding of the field and the ability to use this information in my work.
Apart from the professors and courses themselves, meeting so many people from all over the world was truly an amazing experience. Things back home can be quite stale from some point of view as it is mostly natives interacting with each other most of the time. However, during my Master I got the chance to meet people from all over the globe within the hour and make friendships that span thousands of miles and last until this day.
I cannot even begin to express how much this entire experience has taught me, both on a professional and a personal level. I feel that I came in an eager student and I left a humbler, even more eager student, my eyes open to the world and my mind filled with incredible knowledge imparted to me by the extraordinary people I had the honor of calling my tutors and lecturers.
I would strongly encourage anyone who wishes to set forth on this journey through Erasmus as a wonderful set of experiences awaits them and they will surely not regret their choice for a second.
