Phyllis Livaha studied Political Science with a minor in Accounting at Bennett College and went on to do law at Michigan State University College of Law. Phyllis taught international law and international relations at Maastricht University, both at the Law faculty and University College Maastricht. She is currently working with 7Senses Action Research Academy on a project on Female Circumcision. She is also a participant of Women's Legal Landmarks Network project in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Why do you work at EUC?

While growing up, teaching was one of the things I said I would never do. The saying, "never say never" rings true in my case. I have been teaching for the past five years and enjoy it very much. I like the different dynamics in the different tutorial groups, and I learn a lot both from the students and other colleagues.
