Alex Whitcomb, MSc.
Alex Whitcomb grew up in Zimbabwe until the end of high school when he moved to the Netherlands to study Liberal Arts and Sciences in Middelburg. After graduating summa cum laude Alex proceeded to do his master degree at the Rotterdam School of Management in Strategic Management. Outside of work Alex is an avid hiker and co-organises the annual EUC study trip to Zimbabwe where 10 EUC students engage in community work and research in his hometown of Marondera.
Why do you work at EUC?
I love to work at EUC because it is the same kind of study which I did for my bachelor degree. I truly believe in the small-scale personal approach of the University Colleges in the Netherlands and I love to see students develop and flourish here. It is not all about the books here at EUC but there are plenty of opportunities for all-round personal development. That doesn't mean our students don't study hard - work hard, play hard seems to be an appropriate motto. I also really love my position as head of Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions & Integration. Strategic thinking and making recruitment plans really appeals to me.
