Quite some students at the Erasmus University and Erasmus Medical Centre will encounter in their future careers decision-making or argumentation surrounding an autopsy. For example as future public prosecutor, lawyer, forensic expert or criminologist. Especially for these students we organize a private autopsy-lecture.
Joost Nan will start with answering questions like: What happens to a human body after passing away? What exactly is a corpse? What does an autopsy involve? Who is allowed to perform an autopsy? And what is the role of a forensic expert?
Secondly Gül Eker will explain step by step the (filmed) autopsy, executed by herself.
Medical nor juridical knowledge is required. With: Gül Eker, pathologist at Treant Zorggroep and specialized in autopsie, mr. dr. Joost Nan, assistant professor Criminal Law and lawyer with the supreme court and prof. dr. Gert-Jan Kleinrensink, professor Anatomy ErasmusMC.
