The Rotterdam Climate Agreement

In 2019, the municipality of Rotterdam wants to conclude a climate agreement with organizations, companies and other partners in the city. The Rotterdam Climate Agreement focuses on five sectors: clean energy, harbor and industry, mobility, built environment and consumption. Students of the Erasmus University Rotterdam lead the climate table (“klimaattafel”) consumption. The task of this climate table is to explore how a change in consumption can contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

Case study

During this session, you will work on a case study of the climate table consumption. We will present issues for which we are still looking for solutions and will use the results in the follow-up of the climate table. There are numerous good initiatives already happening in Rotterdam, but the city still faces some big challenges and we need your help!

The session starts with a presentation of the progress of the climate table and the project proposals of this table. During this session, students can also sign up to be part of one of these projects. This is your chance to work together with scientists, officials from Rotterdam Circular and a diverse group of other students, to contribute to a more sustainable city!

Practical info

The climate table will be led by Esmee Tanis (pictured). This talk is meant for EUR students, lecturers and support staff. Please sign up by reserving a free ticket in our ticket shop!
