During this event, CLI Fellow Dr. Marieke Meeuwisse will talk about an inclusive learning environment in higher education and how to achieve this.
Performance pressure also leads to loneliness among many young people. And this while social involvement is one of the most important predictors of study success: students who feel at home in their education perform significantly better than those who do not. Bonding with the student and a sense of community in class and college ensure better study performance.
Study efficiency and personal excellence have received a lot of attention in education in recent years. It is now clear that a one-sided focus on performance comes at the expense of students' well-being. Many of them suffer from excessive study stress, psychological complaints and even burn-outs.
As an educational institution, how do you realise this bonding and social cohesion and ensure that every student feels at home in education and study? On 21 January the study day #Feel Connected will take place in Utrecht.
