This thesis investigates aspects of surgical procedures on the aortic valve, aortic root, ascending aorta, aortic arch and descending thoracic aorta. The research described in this thesis aims to provide new insights into the results and risks associated with these procedures in specific patient populations. The acquired information aims to improve future selection criteria for patients undergoing these advanced surgical procedures
