Procedures for payment of tuition fees
Read first: Not applicable for non-EEA students who have to apply for their first Dutch visa and/or residence permit for study purposes. If you are not sure about your situation, please contact the Immigration team here.
Available payment methods for payment of tuition fees are:
1. Payment by digital authorisation from a bank account from a country in the SEPA area via Studielink
After the tuition fees have been established by Erasmus University you will receive an email via Studielink. Pay by digital authorization via studielink in case you have a bank account from a country in the SEPA area. Follow the instruction available on the Studielink website.
Please note: make sure that we receive your confirmed digital authorization via Studielink before 31 August.
2. Payment by bank
If you want to pay the tuition fee via a bank transfer, indicate in Studielink how the payment will be performed (via Dutch or non-Dutch bank account). Transfer the tuition fee to ABN-AMRO bank NL10ABNA0490929311 mentioning the students name and student number. Make sure that we receive the payment before the start of programme. Please keep in mind that there might be additional costs for your international payment. For money transfers from outside the Netherlands the following payment information has to be provided:
- IBAN code: NL10ABNA0490929311
- BIC code: ABNANL2A
Please note: payment in installments is not available if you prefer this method.
3. Pay tuition fee online
Do you know the amount you have to pay? Go to the pay tuition fee online page to pay online. Be sure to pay before the 31st of August.
4. Payment of tuition fees by another person/institution
E.g parents, employer or scholarship/grant institution
5. Payment by Proof of Payment of Tuition Fee (BBC- Bewijs Betaald Collegegeld)
Students who receive a student grant or loan from DUO only have to pay the statutory tuition fee once in The Netherlands. Make sure that you ask for a “Proof of Payment of Tuition Fee” (“Bewijs van Betaald Collegegeld”) in time from the Dutch institute to which you paid the statutory tuition fee and send it to Erasmus University Rotterdam, Department CBI, Antwoordnummer (Freepost) 2791, 3000 VB Rotterdam or hand in the BBC at Erasmus Student Service Centre before the start of the study programme . Do not forget to mention your name and student number.
Please note that you are only eligible for a reduction or exemption if you pay the statutory fee at Erasmus University as well as at the other institute. Make sure that we receive the BBC before the start of the study programme.
6. Payment at Erasmus Student Service Centre
In case you prefer to pay the tuition fees at Erasmus Student Service Centre, please note that we do not accept cash payments. Payment is only possible by PIN or creditcard. There is a 5% charge in case of payment with Visa/Mastercard (credit/debit) at Erasmus Student Service Centre. Payment in installments is not available at Erasmus Student Service Centre. Make sure to pay before the start of the programme.
Pay in time
Payment is a necessary condition for registration. You are responsible for completing your registration before the start of the programme. If you applied for enrolment for the complete academic year we should have received the payment of the tuition fees before 31 August. Please make sure to pay in time: if this is not the case you are not registered as a student at Erasmus University. Your Erasmus University ICT account will be blocked and exam results will not be registered. Furthermore, if you are not registered as a student, you are not entitled to a DUO study grant, loan or student travel product as one of DUO's necessary conditions is registration.
