A new Write-n-Cite (WnC) version for Windows is available, with a Mac version to follow. The new versions have security enhancements and support of new reference types and fields.
The new version for Windows, 4.6.241 (or higher), is available on the Tools page of RefWorks and legacy RefWorks, in the Software Center on EUR managed PCs and from the RefWorks Write-n-Cite Downloads page in the ExLibris Knowledge Center. The Mac version, 4.6.212 (or higher) will be available in these links as well once released.
• Write-N-Cite is for those using Word 2016 and below only
• For users of Word 2016 and above, RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM) should be used
• Current RCM users can disregard this notification
How users can upgrade:
When users open Write-N-Cite they will be prompted to upgrade. Additionally users will receive an in-app message in RefWorks and in legacy RefWorks announcing this new version is available. Users can download the new version from the Tools page of RefWorks and legacy RefWorks, from the Software Center on EUR managed PCs and from RefWorks Write-n-Cite Downloads page in the ExLibris Knowledge Center.
What If a user doesn’t upgrade:
Users who do not upgrade now will be able to continue using current versions, but won't have the security enhancements and new reference types and fields. However, starting October 31, older versions will no longer work. We recommend upgrading to the latest Windows version now and to the latest Mac version as soon as it will be available.
