The best places to study in Rotterdam that aren't the library
With exam week coming up chances are you'll be spending a lot of time studying. Make sure you check out one of these awesome locations!
1. Exam Prep Café
Free wifi, free coffee, plenty of plugpoints, snacks, energy drinks, and lots of space to study. Former Erasmus University student Vincent Karremans – owner of career site magnet.me – just opened a Pop-Up Study Café. There is room for 60 students on a first-come first-served basis. Quiet study room upstairs, conversation allowed downstairs. Probably closed on Easter Monday, but open from Wednesday 12 April till Easter Monday, from 9am till 7pm.
Goudsesingel 56 Rotterdam
2. Kralingse Plas
We know it’s outside and there's a 60% chance it could rain, but this is the best place to sit outside and read your notes, or just take inspiration from the pond and the trees. There are loads of benches where you can sit and study. And if you grab a coffee at Restaurant De Schone Lei you might just get their wifi password.
Schone Lei: Plaszoom 500 Rotterdam / Metro Voorschoterlaan
3. Hopper Coffee
We asked around about the best place to study and this one came highly recommended. Hopper is located on Schiedamse Vest. It's a bit loud if you go for coffee, but they have a quiet area where you can study in peace. With its industrial, spacious feel and free wifi, it's a great place to make studying less stressful. And it's open on Easter Monday!!!
Schiedamse Vest 146 / Metro to Beurs
Open: Friday 8.45am–6 pm, Saturday & Sunday 10am–6pm, Easter Monday 8.45–6pm
4. Coffee Company
It's a classic. The Coffee Company has excellent coffee, and is great for studying, plus wifi of course. They have two different locations in Rotterdam: one at Eendrachtsplein, and one on the Meent. You will find lots of fellow students sweating away this week. It's also open on Easter Monday, but do check opening times before you go there.
Eendrachtsplein 2 // Meent 12-14/ Metro to Eendrachtsplein // Tram 7 to Meent
Open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Easter Monday, check websites for opening times.
If you want to combine your studying with the best vegan food, great soups, and a lovely interior, then you should head for Bertmans. Or combine home studying with a lunch break here.

Best place to study that is the library
Would you like to study on campus during Easter? The Polak building will be open on Good Friday (14 April) and Easter Monday (17 April) between 10am and 9pm. Note that the rest of the university will be closed during these days. Tostiworld will be open on Friday.
