Inaugural lecture on design-focused public administration
Governments are increasingly challenged by citizens who aim to start initiatives by themselves. Governments can make better use of these initiatives if they have a more welcoming stance to them. Public administration at the university can support his, if it develops a more design-oriented orientation. This was the core of the inaugural lecture by prof. dr. Arwin van Buuren on 23 June.
In his inaugural lecture, professor Van Buuren argued for valorisation to be fundamentally part of the research conducted at the university. Insight and impact should be intertwined rather than pulled apart.
