Internship - CFM

Climatefundmanagers (CFM) is looking for an intern with its capital raising & business development team. 


You are an MBA or MSc student in finance, international economics, business or a related field, with a desire to be involved in fund management and climate finance. You are confident, intelligent, commercially focused and are looking to gain valuable work experience in a one-of-a-kind international financial services institution.

Ideally, you have already gained some previous experience in capital raising in the financial sector, and you are used to working in an international context. You are a pro-active worker with strong interpersonal skills and a strong numerical comprehension: you have excellent communications skills and have a clear understanding of financial services, fund management, and/or investment banking. You enjoy researching, working with data, complicated subject matter, and can adhere to challenging deadlines. You are fully proficient in Microsoft office applications, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Underpinning your personal competencies, you are motivated by working with an innovative fund manager mandated to deliver positive climate change and development outcomes across the emerging markets. Climate change and sustainable development are issues of importance to you, and important considerations in your future career aspirations.

You will be able to closely monitor the dynamics of building an effective and successful international fund management organization with a unique climate and blended finance proposition.

You will learn how to build and maintain relationships with both public and private sector investors, as well as other key stakeholders such as NGO’s and CSO’s. In addition, you will contribute to the on-boarding of future investor by assisting the Capital Raising team with responding to due diligence requests.

You will learn a lot about building and maintaining Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases and develop marketing and communications skills by creating effective presentations for (potential) investors/sponsors and drafting press releases.

Importantly, the internship may provide the opportunity to gain experience in a possible future working environment by contributing to the success of an exciting and impact driven fund management company.

Support the Capital Raising & Business Development team with its strategy of growing funds under
management by assisting with sectoral research, project management, and coordination activities.
This will include:
• Market and potential future opportunities research
• Thematic and sectoral research relating to current and future fund concepts
• Public and private sector investor research
• Maintaining CRM system used by the Capital Raising & Business Development team
• Preparation of PowerPoint presentations and other marketing materials
• Assisting with responding to investor due diligence requests
• Identifying conferences and events
• Coordinating agendas and calendars
• Minute taking during calls with prospective investors
• Website maintenance

This is a full-time internship opportunity for 3/4 months at a unique and innovative start-up environment with a result-based setting. We will give you the chance to build an excellent network while improving the skills necessary to succeed in either the public or private finance sector.
