Hi, my name is Brigitte, but I go by Bri when abroad. I’m originally from a fairly small town near the capitol of Estonia. Why did I decide to move away and study in the Netherlands? Honestly, the last determinant was that Rotterdam was close enough that I could drive home any time I wanted (I ended up taking my car back to Estonia after the first block of university because the driving culture is completely different in the Netherlands than it is in Estonia. Bikes!).
I completed one year of business studies and decided to come to an internship in California, San Francisco. Why this far when just a year ago my concern was being able to drive home whenever? I had made a close friend over the internet the summer before I had started university and neither of us had any plans of travelling across the ocean. So meeting each other, no matter how much we wanted to, didn’t seem to be happening any time soon. He suggested me to do an internship here since Silicon Valley has a completely different business culture than most of Europe. Now, here I am, happily on my internship for 4 months, learning new things every day and exploring the world.
My whole life is a series of decisions made on small, random determinants and gut feelings that somehow lead to the best adventures a girl can have. So stay tuned for all the fun things I do here during my marketing & PR internship for Badger Maps and travelling around the Bay Area. I hope you’ll get infected with the “incentive-parasite” of coming here too!
