Johan Heilbron receives Fellowship from Institute for Advanced Study, in Princeton, USA
Sociologist Professor Johan Heilbron is invited to Princeton, USA for the academic year 2017-2018. He has received a fellowship of the famous Institute for Advanced Study. He will take part in a program about "The Social Sciences in a Changing World." Johan Heilbron is working on a book on globalization of the social sciences.
About Johan Heilbron
Johan Heilbron is Professor of Sociology at Erasmus University Rotterdam and sociologist at the Centre de sociologie européenne (CSE-CNRS) in Paris.
Among his research interests are the historical sociology of the social sciences, economic sociology and the sociology of transnational exchange.
Recent book publications include The Rise of Social Theory (1995), The Rise of the Social Sciences and the Formation of Modernity (with L. Magnusson and B. Wittrock, 1998, paperback 2001), Pour une histoire des sciences sociales. Hommage à Pierre Bourdieu (with R. Lenoir and G. Sapiro, 2004) and Wetenschappelijk onderzoek: dilemma's en verleidingen (2005). For is book French Sociology (2015) he won the History of Sociology Section Distinguished Scholarly Publication Award (History of Sociology Section of the American Sociological Association).
