The Supervisory Board of Erasmus University Rotterdam has started the recruitment process for the successor of Professor Huibert Pols as Rector Magnificus.
In consultation with the representative bodies and the academic community a profile of the new Rector Magnificus has been drafted. This profile can be found here.
This summer, the Supervisory Board extended the period of appointment of Rector Magnificus Professor Huibert Pols until, at the latest, the day on which he attains emeritus status in July 2018. He will in any case remain until the Institutional Quality Assurance Assessment (ITK) has been completed (spring of 2018).
In consultation with the yet-to-be-appointed new Rector Magnificus and Professor Pols, a date will be chosen for the transfer of responsibilities.
Pols’s first term as Rector Magnificus formally ends on 8 November 2017 (the university’s birthday/Dies Natalis). A reappointment for a further four year term is not possible as he will reach retirement age in July 2018.
