After the famous feature films Paris, Je t’aime (2006) and New York, I Love You (2009), the movies also declare Rotterdam their love. Rotterdam, I Love You will be shot this summer and shown in cinemas worldwide in 2018.
Rotterdam, I Love You is an initiative of Cities of Love, a worldwide organisation dedicated to showcasing talent and great storytelling across the globe. Like the previous entries in the Cities of Love series, the Rotterdam one will be a kaleidoscope of stories about love in various forms, woven into the rhythm of the unique character of Rotterdam by 11 different directors. These range from up-and-coming Dutch talents to internationally acclaimed directors, including Paula van der Oest, Barry Atsma, and Shariff Nasr.
More than a Movie
Rotterdam, I Love You is not only about a movie. Alongside the film, festivals, concerts, seminars, and lots of other activities are being organised. It's an urban movement that celebrates all that is great and inspiring in Rotterdam, and helps the directors of the movie to find out what stories, locations, and characters are typical of the city.
