Werner Brouwer (ESHPM) wins ENHV Athena Award 2017
For his exceptional commitment to encourage female talent within Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management (ESHPM) and Erasmus University Rotterdam, prof. Werner Brouwer, vice-dean ESHPM, accepts the ENVH Athena Prize 2017 on Monday 4 September during the opening of the academic year.
The Erasmus Network of Female Professors (ENVH) and Erasmus University Rotterdam grant the ENVH Athena award to a member of staff who has actively and visibly encouraged female talent and is thus a shining example for all colleagues.
The way Werner Brouwer creates an inclusive culture is truly outstanding. As vice-dean of Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management he is committed to addressing the gender bias and cheers diverse talent within his School. In addition, he creates opportunities for women and encourages them to actively make informed decisions concerning their career path. Since his appointment as vice-dean in March 2012, 23 female assistant professors, 7 female associate professors and 2 female professors have been appointed.
