Where can I publish my article in Open Access?
The Open Access Journal Browser, developed by Wageningen University & Research Library, presents the most important journals and their Open Access opportunities, including the Open Access deals the VSNU has made with major publishers. In these deals the costs of publishing in Open Access are collectively bought off by the universities, in exchange for an increase in subscription prices. Make sure you use these deals for your own benefit!
How can you – as an author - make use of these deals with academic publishers?
- Check in the Journal Browser if there is a deal for the journal you want to publish in or use the Browser to find other suitable journals
- Choose a researcher of a Dutch university as the corresponding author of the article
- Use the university e-mail address while corresponding with the publisher and/or the editor of the journal – avoid using a private e-mail address
- After the acceptance of the article, make immediately clear that you want to make use of the ‘VSNU big deal’. When the article is published, it’s too late: you can't claim Open Access afterwards.

The search results can be sorted by title and journal metrics like CiteScore, SJR or SNIP.
When you are within the IP-range of the Erasmus University when you visit the UKB Journal Browser, you will see the Article Processing Charges (APC) discount for the corresponding author of the EUR directly in the results list.
