Jennifer Riter is a lecturer, researcher, and Master’s Coordinator in the International and European Union Law Department at Eramsus University Rotterdam. Her research focuses on global governance, transnational corporations, and energy law. Jennifer holds an LL.M in International and European Union Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam, as well as, a J.D. from the University of Oklahoma, College of Law where she specialized in Energy & Natural Resources Law. Jennifer Riter is a lecturer, researcher, and Master’s Coordinator in the International and European Union Law Department at Eramsus University Rotterdam. Her research focuses on global governance, transnational corporations, and energy law. Jennifer holds an LL.M in International and European Union Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam, as well as, a J.D. from the University of Oklahoma, College of Law where she specialized in Energy & Natural Resources Law. Jennifer graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Diplomatic History, Women’s Studies, and Sociology from the University of Tulsa where she was listed on both the Dean’s and President’s Honor Roll. She was a recipient of the University of Tulsa’s Top Ten Freshman award for the 2005 – 2006 academic year. Jennifer was admitted to practice law in September of 2012 and is an Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, Tulsa Area Alumnae Panhellenic, Fred C. and Mary R. Koch Foundation, TUSCH, GPACAC, and a Kansas Honor Scholar.

Jennifer’s research is equally inspired by her extensive work in oil and gas exploration and production with Chesapeake Energy, Samson Resources, and Ascent Resources; as it is by her role with the City of Rotterdam & C40 Cities’ Climate Adaptation Academy. Jennifer has served as a judicial clerk for both the Oil & Gas and Public Utilities Divisions of the State of Oklahoma’s regulatory agency – the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. Her prior work covered all aspects of natural resource management including contract negotiation, risk mitigation, budgeting, legal analysis, multi-disciplinary project coordination, business development, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. She has broad regulatory and operational experience having managed projects across the United States seeking innovative solutions in the Permian Basin, Mississippi Lime, Utica Shale, and Cotton Valley Sands.

Jennifer is the current Managing Editor of Erasmus Law Review and has previously served as Assistant Managing Editor for the Oklahoma Law Review. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, American Association of Petroleum Landmen, Mortar Board National Honor Society, and the International Legal Honor Society of Phi Delta Phi.
