Dr. Marjan Askari is an assistant professor at the Erasmus School of Health Policy and Management since 2017. She has a background in computer science and medical informatics. Her research focusses on medical informatics, specifically on health services innovation and IT and e-health, on among other things clinical decision support systems, patient empowerment; self-management using IT; prognostic models and e-coaching.

Prior to that she was a researcher at the University of Amsterdam / Academic Medical Center working on various projects for improving elderly care and patient safety at the ICU/emergency department and primary care using information technology.
