Privacy Value Statement @EUR
Protecting privacy is fundamental for Erasmus University. It plays an important role in creating a safe and pleasant learning and working environment where respectful contact with each other is the starting point.
Privacy offers space for the student, researcher, teacher and employee to fill in his interaction with the organization in his own way and to be himself. Because of the space it offers, students, researchers and employees can form and experiment their thoughts in freedom.
This means that privacy is necessary to maintain a strong and dynamic organization and it contributes to the change and innovative capacity of the University.
Privacy is not only important for the individual, but also for the functioning of the university. It offers students, researchers and scientists the opportunity to experiment and participate in discussions without intimidation and observation, without control or condemnation. This makes possible the existence of a large diversity of ideas. Privacy is therefore a precondition for academic and intellectual freedom.
