Elias Becker is researcher port economics at Erasmus UPT. His main research topics are Port Management and Governance and Port Logistics.
He has worked for the Rotterdam Port Authority and Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (container terminal). At the Port of Rotterdam Authority he worked at PoRInt (the international department) doing port management research. Examples are Constanta, Romania, New York/New Jersey and Taranto, Italy.
Afterwards Elias worked for Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam. He worked on hinterland logistics (European Gateway Services), IT-projects, planning optimization, digitalization and synchromodal transport. Optimizing and digitalizing logistics is a main research topic.
Elias obtained a bachelor in Logistics in Rotterdam and is currently parttime obtaining his master’s in Public Administration. This combination forms his focus in research.
