Getting to Rotterdam
There are two options to reach Rotterdam by plane. First is via Schiphol International Airport, located near Amsterdam. With over 71 million passengers and almost 500.000 flights it presents an excellent hub to reach the Netherlands. From Schiphol to Rotterdam Central Station takes just 26 minutes with a direct train. Second option is Rotterdam Airport, a comfortable and easy regional airport, situated at approximately six miles from the city centre. Travel times between the airport and the city are excellent: fifteen minutes by taxi and twenty minutes by public transport (airport shuttle & metro) to Rotterdam Central Station.
One of the fastest and easiest ways to get to Rotterdam is to travel by train. International direct trains from Belgium, France, United Kingdom and Germany arrive many times a day at Rotterdam Central Station.
Getting around the city
Rotterdam has a compact and easily accessible city centre. Downtown Rotterdam offers a wide variety of conference centres, hotels and social venues that are all close by, mostly within walking distance. The campus Woudestein is located near the city centre and can be reached in a variety of ways. There are sufficient parking spaces at the campus, a tram stop in front and metro station Kralingse Zoom is within 5 minutes walking. From the campus to the shopping area takes 17 minutes and to central station 23 minutes (by tram, every 8 minutes).
