Modules first semester
The first semester consists of three blocks. The first block takes place in September and October, the second block in November and December and the third block in January and February. Each block consists of different modules and can be followed separately in different years, for those wishing to do the course part time (more info about the part-time MEMR on request).
The dynamics of urban systems and the development of the quality of urban life are central themes in this module. Attention is paid to the spatial economic behavior of urban actors: households, businesses and governments. The module will also deal with (classical) patterns and typologies of urban development. The increasing need for integral planning and strategies for urban development are other points of consideration. A special focus will be on local economic development (i.e. growth clusters, learning regions,) and on culture as asset for economic development.
