Stress management for PhD's
The stress management group is intended for PhD’s that experience high levels of stress during working, test taking (test anxiety) or giving a talk, who think the work they have done is never good enough, who cannot bring themselves to start studying or, or have trouble concentrating when they do study. In this group, you will learn and practice new skills, based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy principles, to challenge and change their thinking and maladaptive skills. You will learn skills to manage anxiety provoking thoughts and managing difficult emotions that come up.
The stress management group consists of a maximum of 10 students and lasts 6 weekly sessions. There is an interview prior to the training to see if participation is useful, or if other help is more appropriate.

The training will be given by Iris Bergwerff-van der Giessen, psychologist, who focuses mainly on (work)stress related issues. Within the EUR she works as a psychologist for PhD’s who are dealing with psychological problems.
