Student life at Erasmus University

What is behind the beautiful Rotterdam skyline? A truly inspiring city; perfect for your student years!

Innovative and vibrant are the best words to describe Rotterdam. It may take some time to get to know the city, but once you have, it’s a great city in which to spend your student days. There are plenty of trendy restaurants, nice bars and festivals in the summer. For the more career-driven students among you: many international companies have their offices here.

Student life

Not only do we offer you high class education, Erasmus University Rotterdam also provides great leisure activities. The study and student associations and Studium Generale organise debates, performances and lectures throughout the week. So after a day of hard study, you’ll have plenty of possibilities to relax and enjoy

Football, dancing, basketball, rowing: Erasmus Sport offers almost every kind of sport. On campus, there are tennis courts and a brand new fitness centre with modern equipment. You can’t deliver a good study performance if you’re not fighting fit, can you?

Introduction programmes

Start your time in Rotterdam with the Eurekaweek in mid August to discover the city, make friends and get to know the university and campus. There’s an extensive social introduction programme for international students too, with trips to see the highlights of the city and the Netherlands. We’d really advise you to participate: Rotterdam will feel like home in no time!

Finding good accommodation shouldn’t be a problem as the city offers a variety of student housing. You can arrange housing through SSH Short Stay, HousingAnywhere or once you’re here, through other students. Did you know that international students can rent student rooms or studios right on campus?
