Jannelieke Aalstein, alumna

Current occupation: head of external relations of the executive board of the Rotterdam municipality

"During my studies I discovered what I wanted: a job that matters, in which you can have an impact on society and in which you can make a difference."

"After my graduation I got the opportunity to follow the trainee programme. Knowing how to reason from different perspectives came in handy! You're often the connecting link between different parties. You bring together ideas, advises and solutions. After a few years I started working as an interim manager. This brought me to all kinds of places, for example to Brussels. Now I'm back in Rotterdam. I'm the Head of External Relations of the Executive Board of the Rotterdam municipality. In my daily work I closely work together with political parties, governments, civil services and the city."
