For the benefit of all: making society work

On Wednesday, 8 November 2017, Erasmus University Rotterdam celebrated it’s 104th anniversary (Dies Natalis).  which will be held.

The Dies theme ‘For the benefit of all: making society work’ touches upon all aspects of research and education at the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences (ESSB) and also mirrors the work of Professor Christopher Hood. This influential British academic received an honorary doctorate from Erasmus University.

ESSB Dean Professor Henk van der Molen delivered the Dies lecture.

Challenge Accepted

Rector Magnificus Professor Huibert Pols and the Chair of Erasmus Trustfonds, Mr. Michiel Muller, launched ‘Challenge Accepted’: a campaign today that will allow the university to take on the societal challenges of the 21st century.

The ambition is to create an endowment fund of EUR 100 million by 2025. Donors have already contributed a total of more than EUR 26 million to this end. In addition, the two organisations have introduced an online community for alumni, students and academics.
