Welcome to the website of the OR 2013 Conference - the International Conference on Operations Research. This annual conference is organized by the German and the Dutch OR Society. The conference will be held from Tuesday 3 through Friday 6 September 2013 in the city of Rotterdam.
The theme of the conference is Impact on People, Business and Society. With Alexander Rinnooy Kan, who had positions in academia, business and government, and Steve Sashihara, well-known for his book The Optimization Edge, we have two renowned plenary speakers who can perfectly address the theme. Moreover, two new awards are dedicated to the theme: the "Young participant with most academic impact" and the "Young participant with most practical impact" award.
Erasmus University Rotterdam is honored to host this international conference in the World Trade Center in the city center of Rotterdam.
Rotterdam is a young, dynamic, international city with a passionately beating heart, which keeps reinventing itself at a rapid pace while continuously redefining and expanding its already impressive skyline.
World Port Days
If you like to know Rotterdam better, you have the opportunity to visit the World Port Days just after the conference from September 6 - 8. For 35 years Rotterdam shows the ins and outs of Europe’s largest port during these days. In the city centre along the river Maas and quaysides you will find a wide range of companies, vessels, activities and industrial material.
