Biplots are useful visualization tools for a variety of exploratory statistical analyses, such as, principal components analysis, (multiple) correspondence analysis, canonical variate analysis. Recently, the book Understanding Biplots (Wiley, 2011) by Gower, Lubbe, and Le Roux was published together with the R package UBbipl. This library can be downloaded by anybody from the web site:

This one day workshop is given by one of the world's leading experts in biplots, Prof. Le Roux from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. The workshop is built around the above book and gives a "hands-on" introductory course on the R-package UBbipl.  The aim is to show possibilities of the biplots so that after attending the course a participant should be able to construct and interpret the basic biplots of his/her own data with UBbipl. It is encouraged to further experimenting with the facilities available in UBbipl.

If you want to join the workshop, please contact Ursula David ( before April 23, 2012.
