Dr. Lei Yang is a researcher the Department of Media & Communication at the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
In September 2015, Dr. Yang moved to Rotterdam for her PhD project. Her PhD supervisor is Prof. Jeroen Jansz. Dr. Yang completed her PhD dissertation in planned four years. In December 2019, she defended her PhD dissertation entitled "Health Communication Research Among the Chinese Hui Ethnic Minority Group in Shenyang City".
In 2017, she was a visiting researcher at the Department of Communication Studies in California State University Long Beach (USA). In 2018 and 2019, she published two academic articles in International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (5-Year Impact Factor: 2.948). In 2018, she was invited by Fudan University (Shanghai, China) to give guest lecture at school of Journalism and she also gives guest lectures in ESHCC. In her PhD life, she presented her research in "The 67th and 68th Annual Conference of the International Communication Association", "Etmaal communicatiewetenchap 2018 and 2019".
Dr. Yang is currently a researcher at the Department of Media & Communication. Her main research interests include intercultural communication, health communication and social media research.
