Profile
Jochem is a PhD candidate at the SYNC lab (http://erasmus-synclab.nl/). In his PhD project, he focuses on the neural signature of prosociality in adolescence, with a focus on vicarious gaining (gaining rewards for someone other than yourself). In addition, he investigates the relationship between self-concept and prosociality.
Jochem's PhD is a part of a larger, NWO-VICI-funded project on self-concept. This longitudinal project has so far investigated the development of self-concept in adolescence over a period of four years in a group of approximately 160 adolescents, using several different measurement methods (fMRI, questionnaires, hormone collection).
