Alberto Quintavalla invited to speak at prestigious environmental congress

ESL Researcher Alberto Quintavalla, associate at the Jean Monnet Chair of Economic Analysis of European Law, has been selected as speaker at the II Inter-American Congress on the Environmental Rule of Law. This congress aims to promote debate on environmental laws.

The Organization of American States (OAS), United Nations Environment, the World Commission on Environmental Law (WCEL), and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), have issued a call for this prestigious congress. Alberto’s article (co-authored with Raimy Reyes) was one of the selected papers under the theme “Legal Frameworks for Water Resource Management”.

Alberto Quintavalla will present his research titled “The evolution of the right to water as a unitary and independent right in the Inter-American Human Rights System” at the congress. The audience will consist of several Environment Ministers, academics, lawyers, authorities, and other specialists in the field. Its objectives are to promote debate on the state of the art, challenges, opportunities, and trends of environmental law in light of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the upcoming 3rd United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA): “Towards a Pollution free Planet”.

Alberto Quintavalla looks forward to participate, especially since its topic aligns perfectly with the Erasmus Initiative ’Inclusive Growth and Prosperity’. The II Inter-American Congress on the Environmental Rule of Law will take place on 4-6 September in Santiago, Chile.
