ESL Researcher Alberto Quintavalla present at prestigious EU seminar

Earlier this week, the European Commission's DG Education, Youth, Sport and Culture and the European External Action Service organised The Jean Monnet Seminar on EU Global Strategy: from vision to action. This is a thematic seminar on the EU’s global strategy for foreign and security policy. ELS’s Alberto Quintavalla, representing the Jean Monnet Chair of Economic Analysis of European Law, was one of the invited participants.

Quintavalla was one of approximately 70 people who took part in the seminar, named after the famous French political economist and diplomat. Among them were Jean Monnet professors, experts of foreign and security policy, think tank staff and policy makers. Aim of the seminar was an opportunity to discuss and gain insights from a variety of actors. The objective was to come up with concrete proposals and recommendations to the European Commission and European External Action Service.

The Jean Monnet Chair of Economic Analysis of European Law has contributed to this event with a paper. Alberto Quintavalla participated in the two-day seminar and in the panel discussion. He had a chance to exchange ideas with EU officials and discuss the current state and future challenges of Europe’s external action. In this way, Erasmus School of Law has made a concrete contribution to the European debates on EU global strategy.
