EU-China Relations Conference
On 29 and 30 September, by invitation of Prof. Mario Telo’s, Prof. Yuwen Li attended the EU-China Relations Conference, jointly held by the Institute for European Studies and the Institute Confucius, Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), in Brussels, Belgium.
The conference covered a comprehensive range of topics relating to the China-EU relations from political, societal as well as legal perspectives, which features state-of-the-art research outputs from government officials, policy makers, as well as world renowned academics from China and Europe. The sessions included a debate on EU-China internal and external foreign policies; convergent and divergent institutional dialogues; trade, investment, and financial issues; and EU-China cooperation on many other aspects. Prof. Yuwen Li has made her contribution to the conference by giving a keynote speech ‘EU/PRC Legal Relationships & the Promotion of the Rule of Law in China’, which was well appreciated by participants of the conference. As one of the important academic outputs of this conference, Prof. Yuwen Li and Cheng Bian (PhD candidate at ESL, supervised by Prof. Yuwen Li & Prof. Michael Faure) will co-author one chapter in the forthcoming book ‘The EU-China Partnership: Bridging Institutional and Ideational Differences between Two Unprecedented Global Actors’, to be published by Routledge in 2017.
