Meet our new junior fellow: Michalis

Michalis is a PhD candidate and teaching assistant at Kent Law School, University of Kent. In his doctoral thesis, he engages with the constitutional questions arising from the techniques of economic governance adopted during the Eurozone crisis and considers the importance of European legal culture in the framing, but also the legal validation, of such responses. This is achieved by studying one site of crisis, that of Cyprus.

During his research stay at the Erasmus School of Law, Michalis will be participating in the  research programme ‘Rethinking the Rule of Law in an Era of Globalisation, Privatisation and Multiculturalisation’ (RRL), under the supervision of Prof. Sanne Taekema. For this period, he will be considering one of the themes explored within the RRL programme, namely, the exercise of public authority by actors lacking legal personality or recognition.
