Second Young Erasmus Food for Thought Lab
Young Erasmus organizes the 2nd Food For Thought Lab on the theme ‘Who Is Afraid Of European Mega-Regionals? Reflections on CETA (And The Dormant TTIP)’.
On Friday, October 28, 2016, 13.30-17.00, a debate on the controversial questions surrounding the negotiations of so-called EU mega-regionals, such as the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement with Canada (CETA) and the Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership (TTIP) will take place. While, in September 2016, European media declared the TTIP dead, the negotiations on this Agreement have already resumed. Moreover, its sister Agreement, the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement with Canada (CETA) might come to life on October 27, 2016, during the EU-Canada Summit (even if only ‘provisionally’). The day after, we will be commenting the outcome of the Summit and discuss some of the most pressing questions about potential/voiced implications for public policy and democracy of these (future) mega-regionals. There will be ample opportunity for engaging in the debate as well as to ask clarificatory questions to the Discussion Leaders, who are renowned scholars in the field.
The event is free!
