Buses and trams
Public transportation
In the major cities, public transportation consists of buses and trams. Amsterdam and Rotterdam also have a metro system. The metro and tram are usually only available in the city and to the nearby towns and villages.
There are various types of buses: city buses usually ride between two neighbourhoods with a stop-over in central railway station:
- Connexxion
- Rotterdam (RET)
- The Hague (HTM)
The regional bus travels between the city and towns/villages in the region. The Interliner (by 'streekbussen') rides longer distances (often between cities) with a limited number of stop-overs, see:
