Getting settled to study in a foreign country is a big step for everybody. The EUCC forms an important role to bridge the gap from China towards the Netherlands for this group. In order for the students to feel more accustomed, the EUCC organized an information meeting on 3 October 2011.
The students were informed about their current status, their new Dutch environment and had the opportunity to ask questions. These ranged from simple everyday-necessities to applying for an English requirements test and insurances. And because ms. Tseng had her birthday celebration the weekend before, the students also received a small treat as a part of her celebration. And also CSC PhD student from the 2010 group attended to share her experiences from her past year.
Chairman of the EUCC, Prof. Hans de Doelder, was present and had conversations with the students. There was a lively discussion about the differences in languages and between studying in the Netherlands and elsewhere in Europe. After which a presentation was shown about the EUR and its history as well as the future prospects of the EUR campus.
