We received the sad news that former ISS staff member Lenneke Warnars passed away last Tuesday, 5 December 2017 at the age of 73. Lenneke worked at ISS for over 25 years until her retirement 7 years ago in 2010.
Lenneke worked mainly in the (then) Dean’s Office for, among others Harry Wagenbuur, Wirte Boelman, Sipko de Boer, Sandro Sideri, Paschal Mihyo, Ashwani Saith, and Freek Schiphorst and she was Secretary to the Board of Examiners for most of these years.
After her retirement she stayed on as invigilator for a number of years, and of course she enjoyed coming to the ISS Butterfly bar!
We were very happy that she was able to attend the very recent high-tea for former staff on 12 October 2017 during the 65th anniversary of ISS.
We remember Lenneke as a hardworking and straightforward colleague, who was very committed to ISS and it’s community and we will miss her here at ISS.
The cremation will be held in a private setting.
